FAQ

I've included a list of common questions that I get, but if there is something that is not on here, please feel free to email me at

Are your nails natural?
Yes.  They are natural...naturally weak, and flexible and peel.  No matter what I try.  Gelish foundation base polish has been the answer for me to grow my natural nails out to the desired length and still use my regular nail polish.

How do you paint your nails so cleanly?
Honest answer, I don't.  With practice I have gotten better, but I still get polish on my cuticles here and there. What I do to make it LOOK like I am really good at painting my nails is I got better tools for clean up and improved that skill as well.  Rather than using your typical q-tips or polish remover pen, I use an angled synthetic brush dipped in acetone.  It is the ONLY way to go!  Fast, easy and precise.

What Base and Top Coat do you use?
I mentioned earlier that I use Gelish Foundation base polish to provide strength to my nails, otherwise they would constantly break.  Because I already have that foundation laid (no pun intended) I don't typically use another base coat on top of that.  In the past, I have used Orly's "Bonder" base coat that is rubberized with great results.  I have also heard that CND Stickey Base is very good too, but I have no personal experience with it.  I always use Seche Vite top coat, but I generally use the UV version over the thicker self-dry version.  Both are phenomenal and by far the best on the market.  A good base and top coat are ESSENTIAL to the longevity of your manicure.

What is nail stamping?
Nail stamping is an easier way to get decorative images on your nails instead of free hand painting them. There are multiple manufacturers that make nail stamping plates but it all started with a company called Konad.  Their plates are the most pricey, but are authentic and their polishes are specific to stamping.  The process is fairly straightforward, but practice is definitely necessary.  See my tutorial for a visual (coming soon).
